This scholarship intends to support veterinary students wanting to participate in animal-specific volunteer endeavors on a domestic or international level that require personal funding for travel and supply needs. Veterinary students endure a tremendous amount of debt for tuition. This scholarship was created to lessen the burden for those wishing to donate their time and efforts to helping animals across the globe.
This scholarship honors a true humanitarian, Oscar Mayer, who deeply loved animals and volunteered his time with various veterinary missions alongside his girlfriend and veterinary technician Katie. Together they have helped hundreds of animals with basic and advanced medical care, and surgical care, and provided pet owners with invaluable knowledge of ways in which to better the lives of their beloved animals. We hope to honor his selfless nature by sponsoring others in similar endeavors.
